Brief History & Demographic Information- Puducherry

Pondicherry officially known as Puducherry and fondly as the ‘French Riviera of the East’ is a Union Territory  located on the southeast coast of India. It consists  of three outer administrative regions in TamilNadu as Karaikal,  in Andhra Pradesh as Yanam, in Kerala as Mahe.  This former French colony is a perfect amalgamation of the traditional Indian culture and French architecture, making it a land of boulevards and rues, delectable French cuisine, bohemian stores and cobble stoned paths for delightful bicycle rides & the splashes of the Bay of Bengal on the shores of the famous Rock Beach.  A serene and spiritual place which houses the Aurobindo Ashram having a total population of 15.9 lakhs.
