Dear Physiotherapy Professional Colleagues,

From The Indian Association of Physiotherapists “We strongly condemn the recent brutal gang rape and sexual assault of one of our Physiotherapy Interns in Delhi on 16th December,2012. This dastardly act is outrageous and despicable and should serve as a warning to perpetrators that such actions will not go unpunished. It is time for all of us to take a firm stand against this scourge. Our women should be treasured and respected!"

To protest against the unfortunate Brutal Gangrape of a Physiotherapy Student in Delhi we expressed our grief by wearing black ribbons in the arm across the country on 19th and 20th December, 2012. The protest was widely reported in the print media ( The Times of India, The Indian Express, Hindustan Times, Vir Arjun, Navbharat Times and Haribhoomi). On 22nd December, 2012 to express our grief the Central executive Committee of IAP organised a protest at India Gate, Delhi from evening 5pm-9pm. Several hundreds of Physiotherapists and students joined the protest at India gate. We all demanded in unison to hang the brutal culprits to death for the heinous crime committed by the culprits. We express our sincere concern for the victim , her family members and pray God for her well being and speedy recovery.
