News letter May 2019 - page 42

have done BPT, we want to be in 3 sectors, academic, clinical or research sector.
Dr. Jha- Sir if you have seen my morning presentation, we were talking about bringing up all these
additional courses, and certification program, but it will take another year or so. All the committees
are forming, they will take up the job and then we can start on thinking. Because to start is easy and
to maintain it and regulate it is a bit difficult. May be next year you will find all these things on the
floor.
Dr. Richa- in curriculum as well we have mentioned mainly skill development and competency
skills, so if it comes under that one, we can avoid such questions.
Dr. Mayura - Sir I see many star people in physio, they have started their own certification programs
andwhich are not included in the curriculumand it is becoming a business sowhat is your take on it.
Dr. Jha- see there are two things, having education and providing education is the birth and
fundamental right, of anyone if I am a professor I feel that I am worth 50,000/- in an hour, and if
people are ready to pay me nobody can stop it. It is you who is going to decide, not the others. And
this has failed everywhere in the world that every capability will be tagged with a price. So Dr.
Deepak, Dr. Richa, Dr. Mohanty is here, we charge according to capability. So it is entirely on the
person who is going to attend that. Nobody is putting a gun and telling you to attend. I tell you some
20 years back.We had a programwhich cost 25 thousands or more. That time it was sellable so it got
sold. So we cannot stop it. We also cannot control who charges what. Yes we can do one thing that
We will come out with some parameters but charge we cannot control.
Dr. Ramesh- as you teach therapeutic taping so why this has not been included in the curriculum of
the doctor Indian university, KNR university? Why we still are learning passive movements and
why IAPeducation committee has not represented anywhere?
Dr. Jha- I my university, Madhya Pradesh university of medical sciences, now we have revised the
syllabus, now the cupping, taping and needling everything is there. So it is also on the board of
studies members to incorporate this. I think most of us who are seniors here most of us are in board
of studies, we have incorporated these things in curriculumnow.
Dr.Ramesh.- I congratulate you for doing so, but as IAP represents all the states, so you should have
an idea of all university syllabus. Why don't we take it up as a challenge and please incorporate and
stop this Sir. I personally feel is student paying a fees of 3 lakhs and not getting to learn and again
paying 20 thousand for that, I think it is a burden on them as we want quality skills in younger
generation. So I request IAP to please check the syllabus of all the universities south, north, central
and so please do the needful Sir. Thank you.
Dr. Jha- I think it's a good idea andwe should tell the state branches to do it andmonitor it properly.
Dr. Kumar (6480)- I have question on clinical establishment act 1997, which has been modified and
st
implemented in Tamilnadu recently, in last June 2018, and they have a cutoff date of 31 March, for
registering the clinic. When we approached there is no proper response from the government. I want
to know what is IAP stand over it or what are the steps taken for registering the clinic and about
practice.
